Exploring the heart of Lancaster County—one backroad, barn, and bakery at a time.

Hi, I’m Sandra Burkholder—a local Realtor, blogger, community advocate, and mom passionate about helping people experience the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Wayfaring Lancaster was born from my love of exploring everything that makes this region extraordinary — from hidden-gem shops and rolling farmland to the quiet rhythm of Amish life and the entrepreneurial energy that fuels our small towns. Supporting local businesses isn’t just a passion; it’s a way to strengthen the very communities that make Lancaster so special. Welcome to my blog, About Wayfaring Lancaster, where I share my journey and insights.

Whether you’re thinking about moving to Lancaster County, investing in real estate, or just want insider favorites for local bakeries, day trips, and events, you’ll find inspiration here.

Hi, I’m Sandra Burkholder, a Listing and Buyer Specialist with eXp Realty and a member of the Matt Fetick Team. Licensed since 2000, I bring a thoughtful, advisory approach to both buyers and sellers—whether navigating a first move, a strategic transition, or the sale of a distinctive property.

My background spans more than two decades across multiple facets of real estate, including commercial due diligence, residential and commercial leasing, property management, and high-value home insurance inspections. This experience gives me a trained eye for construction quality, property value, and long-term potential—insight that allows me to guide clients with clarity and confidence.

I work across a range of property types, from traditional residential homes to investment properties, multi-use spaces, and unique estates. Clients value that I approach each transaction with care, discretion, and a steady, informed perspective—focusing not just on the purchase or sale, but on how each decision supports their broader goals.

When it comes to marketing, I leverage the full reach of eXp’s global platform to position listings with intention—ensuring they are seen not only locally, but by out-of-area and relocation-driven buyers when it matters most.

Alongside my real estate work, I’m the voice behind WayfaringLancaster.com and the founder of the Facebook community Wayfaring Lancaster: Buy Local – Buy Small. Through this platform, I highlight the people, places, and small businesses that give Lancaster County its character—creating a bridge between lifestyle and real estate that helps clients truly understand the area they’re choosing.

Wayfaring Lancaster is more than a blog—it’s a reflection of how I see real estate. It’s about noticing the details, understanding the rhythm of a place, and recognizing what makes a property feel like it belongs. From covered bridges and farmland views to historic homes and evolving communities, I share the kind of perspective that helps clients connect not just to a house, but to a way of living.

I also volunteer with the American Cancer Society, supporting efforts that give back to the community in meaningful ways.

As a long-time Lancaster County resident and a mom, I understand that home is more than a transaction—it’s where life unfolds. Over the years, I’ve helped clients buy, sell, and evaluate properties with both profit and protection in mind—identifying opportunity, avoiding costly missteps, and guiding decisions with long-term perspective.

If you’re looking for an advisor who blends global reach with local authenticity—someone who approaches each opportunity with purpose, precision, and genuine care—I’d be honored to help you write your next chapter.

Blogger – Family, Fitness, Faith and Community Life

My family is is a large part as to why I chose real estate as a career since it offered flexibility. I’m a mom of a mix of biological and adopted children including two sons from the Philippines. My husband, Linford, works in construction, and together we balance a beautiful blend of family, faith, fitness, and community life.

Fitness has been a steady part of my life since graduating college, inspired by my mother’s example of living actively and intentionally. Today, that looks like weight training three times a week, playing pickleball, and getting outside for hikes and walks whenever I can. I enjoy gardening and finding simple ways to weave movement into everyday life. I’m also mindful of what I eat—less about strict rules, more about creating a lifestyle that supports strength, energy, and longevity. Whenever possible, I lean toward activity-based gatherings over food-centered ones.

Faith grounds everything I do. Psalms 23:4 says “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” God never promised us we would not have hard times – it inferred we would – but that God would walk with us through it all. I know that God has walked with me through many tough times and I have seen him at work in the lives of others. Tough times helps me understand others more.

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
Vivian Greene

II use Wayfaring Lancaster, as well as other efforts, to help support my local community. I’m a member of the Lancaster County Association of Realtors and Commercial & Industrial Council. I am also a proud volunteer with the American Cancer Society. I am also a longtime member of my local church: Calvary Church. Through Calvary Church, I’ve learned that God shows his love through the community of believers – the family of God.

A Few Final Words

Home is more than four walls—it’s a lifestyle.
It’s the smell of warm bread at a country market, the hum of a small-town festival, the laughter of kids playing in open fields, and the steady rhythm of a place that feels like it’s yours.

Whether you’re buying, selling, or simply exploring Lancaster County, I’d love to help you find your place here.
